Dean Powell is a well-known guest speaker, journalist, author, broadcaster and vocalist based in South Wales. His prolific workload varies from presenting high-profile engagements in some of the world's largest concert halls to publishing the latest of his popular history books and biographies while also making frequent guest appearances on both radio and television.

Dean is a firm favourite as a master of ceremonies in such diverse venues as the Wales Millennium Centre and the Sydney Opera House. He has compered highly acclaimed engagements for the likes of Katherine Jenkins, Rhys Meirion, Jason Howard, Max Boyce, Iris Williams, Elaine Paige, Beverley Humphreys and Dame Vera Lynn.

Due to his work as a historian and author Dean has recently completed a BBC television programme with actress Michelle Collins.

His quick-witted style and dignified presentation skills have long endeared him to a wide variety of audiences as an after-dinner speaker, having chaired numerous functions with the likes of actors Glyn Houston and Ruth Madoc, broadcasters Katie Adie, Roy Noble and Dewi Griffiths, raconteur Mel Thomas, sportsmen Clive Thomas, Phil Steele, Nobby Styles and the Association of Former Manchester United Players.

Dean is a Life Member of the world-famous Treorchy Male Choir and has toured the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia with them many times as both a soloist and compere. He has undertaken three month-long concert tours of Australia and more recently toured New Zealand where he took the sold-out Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Arts Centre, Perth Concert Hall, Christchurch Town Hall, Adelaide Festival Theatre and Brisbane's Queensland Performing Arts Centre by storm.

Dean joined a star studded line up including Andrea Bocelli, Dame Shirley Bassey and Sir Cliff Richard at the Royal Variety Performance and has recorded solo items on several of the Choir's albums for EMI Records. He has also presented concerts for the Pendyrus Male Choir and the Morriston Orpheus Choir on their visit to Geneva, Switzerland.

A former newspaper editor and award-winning journalist, Dean is also an acclaimed local historian and the author of a successful collection of ten history books and biographies. His work in the field of journalism and public relations has been prolific. His anecdotes of interviews given with the likes of Hollywood greats Gregory Peck, Joan Fontaine and Sir Richard Attenborough, along with Larry Hagman and singer Sir Tom Jones have made him a firm favourite as a guest speaker.
